Coming to North America in Q2, 2013 After teasing for many days, LG has finally detailed its new 5.5-inch Optimus G Pro smartphone today. The phone, which is set to be launched in South Korea this week, packs a 1080p 5.5-inch display unlike the Japanese variant with the same name. Optimus G Pro will be sold via SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus for 968,000 won ($897). LG has also announced that it will be releasing Optimus G Pro in North America and Japan as well, but in Q2, 2013 and did not give any indications about the pricing. There is still no word on the release of the phone in rest of Asia or Europe. LG Optimus G Pro is the first phone to come with Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor, which is slight step up over S4 Pro processor. S4 Pro was last seen in Optimus G, Nexus 4 and HTC Butterfly smartphones. The smartphone also features a big 3,140mA battery, 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera and 2GB RAM. The phone also supports wireless charging. According to a press release issued by the company, Optimus G Pro also comes with advanced UX features developed specifically for the device, such as Dual Recording and Virtual Reality (VR) Panorama. Dual Recording allows users to capture video with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously for a unique picture-in-picture experience. And VR Panorama allows shots of entire horizontal and vertical environments for a full 360o view.
