Google cancels the October 29 android event due to hurricane







News is coming in that Google has cancelled its October 29 press eventin New York on account of Hurricane Sandy.

We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.

Noted Google in an emailed statement to Marketing Land

The Verge adds that Google’s Android event was set to take place on a waterfront pier in NY, which is now in an evacuation zone. So, there was no way Google could have gone ahead with the event.

The search giant was expected to unveil new Nexus devices and Android 4.2 at this event. This is no word on when we are going to see these announcements now.

This is the second consecutive time that a Nexus launch has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, last year too Galaxy Nexus launch was delayed to due to the death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
